As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on the incredible journey this year has been for our team at Emily Henderson Design (EHD). This milestone marks 15 years of sharing creativity, design, and life with you, dear readers. It’s a journey that has transformed my life, and I’m lucky to have you all along for the ride. With a record-breaking 40 reveals this year and numerous personal milestones, every moment has contributed to an amazing mosaic of experiences.
The Power of Teamwork and Relationships
One of the most significant lessons I've learned this year is the importance of having a supportive and dedicated team. Our dynamics shifted positively with the addition of Marlee, our social media manager, which helped streamline processes and boost our workflow. Every member plays a crucial role in our success, from Gretchen, our producer, to Kaitlin, our photographer, and Jess, our editorial director. Each individual brings their unique talents and perspectives, exemplifying the belief that the quality of our relationships shapes the quality of our work.
Personal Growth Through Professional Opportunities
2025 wasn’t just about business success; it was also a year of personal growth. Helping friends and family transform their homes turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences, allowing me to deepen my connections while creating beautiful spaces. Designing homes for my best friends not only reinvigorated my passion for design but also served as a reminder of the importance of community.

This year also challenged us significantly. We faced hurdles such as the decision to relocate manufacturing due to tariffs, requiring new samples and extra shoots. Yet, through these challenges, we learned valuable lessons about resilience in the face of change. Each obstacle brought insights that fueled our creativity and innovation. As we continue navigating the complexities of digital media, adaptability remains a core focus for our team.
Looking Ahead: Opportunities and New Beginnings
As we step into 2026, I feel an exciting sense of anticipation. With ongoing projects, such as our guest cottage restoration, the possibilities feel endless. Each project presents a chance to learn and grow, both personally and professionally. My experiences this year remind me that every new beginning comes with its own set of opportunities, and I’m eager to explore each one as we progress.
Technology's Role in Enhancing Community
This year also marked our first significant foray into AI comment monitoring. This technology provides a buffer against negativity while enhancing the positivity of our community discussions. We want our space to be one where everyone feels welcome, valued, and inspired—much like a tangible home filled with love and creativity. It’s a delicate balance, and we strive to keep that spirit alive as we create content that resonates with you.
